Sharrott Winery Brings Home the Governor’s Cup

photo (11)Sharrott Winery earned 9 medals, including the Governor’s Cup for Best Vinifera, at the New Jersey State Wine Competition 2014.

The awards ceremony was held on May 24 at the Garden State Wine Grower’s Association Blues & Wine Festival in Natirar Park, Peapack-Gladstone. The competition included nearly 300 wines from 29 New Jersey wineries, with top prizes awarded to the best grape (vinifera), fruit and dessert wines.

Sharrott’s Winning Wines include:

  • Vignoles – Governor’s Cup for Best Vinifera, Gold Medal
  • Wicked 2011 – Silver Medal
  • Three Oaks Chardonnay 2012 – Silver Medal
  • Chambourcin 2012 – Bronze Medal
  • Merlot 2012 – Bronze Medal
  • Cabernet Franc 2011 – Bronze Medal
  • Vidal Blanc – Bronze Medal
  • Tango 2011 – Bronze Medal
  • Dry Rose – Bronze Medal

“To be recognized by your peers in your own state is a great honor,” says owner/wine maker Larry Sharrott, III. “Winning the Governor’s Cup for our Vignoles is a great recognition for a quality wine.”
